2017 Summer Academies

Summer Group Museum Topeka

"Engineers build the world around us. At STARBASE we build engineers."

Some of our students think they come to build rockets, explore airplanes and drive rovers. We know they are also building skills in observation, investigation, science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Not to mention confidence.

They come as kids. They leave as engineers.

Summer academies are available to students who have completed 4th, 5th or 6th grade. NO EXCEPTIONS! Wichita, Topeka, Salina, Kansas City, Manhattan and Hays are five-day academies.

Summer 2017 registration for all sites will start on this website on the afternoon of March 27th.

STARBASE Profiles

State Senator Elaine Bowers

Senator Elaine Bowers on Kansas STARBASEIt has been a great privilege of mine to be involved with DoD STARBASE for the past six years. Being a member of the Kansas STARBASE Foundation Board has given me the opportunity to help spread the word on how important it is to have these STEM programs available to our local youth. The U.S. Department of Defense and Kansas National Guard has formed a great relationship with STARBASE, and with their help, they are able to raise students' interest in skills related to science, technology, engineering, and math.
